Lanka Hospitals Academy - LHA
Established in 2019, the Lanka Hospitals Academy (LHA) was founded with the vision of producing and training skilled healthcare professionals to cater to the expanding healthcare sector in Sri Lanka and the South Asian region. The availability of a fully equipped clinical setting is an essential requirement to train healthcare professionals. The strength of LHA lies in the fact that its clinical training is based at the Joint Commission International (JCI) – accredited Lanka Hospitals, a hospital of international standards.
The courses offered at LHA are meticulously designed and conducted by some of Sri Lanka’s top professionals. These include experienced medical specialists and other professionals attached to Lanka Hospitals and prominent local universities. LHA provides the ideal nurturing ground for employees in the healthcare industry who wish to better their prospects. We focus on training our students adequately in both theoretical and practical aspects making them all-rounders in their respective fields. Full-time courses are offered to school leavers, graduate students & others who plan to pursue a career in the healthcare industry.
The Lanka Hospitals School of Nursing is one of the most successful nursing schools in the private health sector. For 23 years the school has produced excellent nurses who have risen to great heights in the Sri Lankan private health sector. Following the establishment of LHA, an array of new courses have been introduced. These include Higher National Diploma in Nursing, Diploma course in Pharmacy, Nurse Assistant Training, and Certificate courses in Phlebotomy, Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy, First Aid and Caregiver Training among others. In addition to these, tailor-made training courses are conducted for leading national organisations on request.
LHA also offers observer-ship programmes for students who wish to pursue a degree in medicine. This is available to students who have completed their advanced level at local and international schools as well as for foreign universities. This programme aims to educate them about the basics of clinical medicine and prepare them for the journey they wish to embark on.
LHA has recently undertaken to provide a clinical training component for a number of healthcare courses offered by leading universities and educational institutions in Sri Lanka and in the South Asian region.
The LHA is currently located at the Lanka Hospitals Academy at No. 657, Elvitigala Mawatha, Colombo 05, close to the hospital. Join us at LHA as we take healthcare education to the next level.
