Overview
This programme equips students with the essential management and practical skills required for leadership roles in the tourism and hospitality industry. Students gain exposure to both academic learning and real-world industry practices through collaborative training.
Entry Requirements
- Accepted NVQ 5 Qualifications: Travel and Tour Management
- Accepted NVQ 6 Qualifications: Hospitality Management (One Year Exemption Granted), Event Management, Travel and Tour Management
- NVQ 5 Equivalent Qualifications: National Diploma Programmes in Hotel Management by Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management
- Any G.C.E. (A/L) stream – admitted only if vacancies remain after NVQ students
Programme Structure
- Semester 1: English as a Second Language I, Introduction to Accounting, Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism Industry, Lodging Operation Management, Food & Beverage Management
- Semester 2: English as a Second Language II, Risk Management, Introduction to Building Services in Hotels, Human Resource Management and Hospitality Law, Hospitality Managerial Accounting, Microeconomics
- Semester 3: Statistics, Introduction to Marketing, Macroeconomics, Consumer Behavior, Sri Lankan History|Culture and Society, International Management
- Semester 4: Energy Management in Hotels, Hospitality Sales & Marketing, E-commerce, Meetings|Incentives|Conference and Events (MICE), Science|Technology and Environment, Meditation & Stress Management
- Semester 5: Hospitality Technology, Wines and Beverages of the World, Service Quality Management, Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility, Business Research Methods
- Semester 6: Global Sustainable Development, Strategic Hospitality Management, Revenue Management, Capstone Thesis Project, Internship, Photography

Study Mode
This programme is offered as a weekend programme primarily for NVQ students. G.C.E. (A/L) students may be enrolled if vacancies remain.
Award and Accreditation
Graduates receive the Bachelor of Technology in Hotel Management from the University of Vocational Technology, recognised nationally for academic and industry standards.
