Doctor of Business Administration - DBA

A Doctorate of Business Administration is a widely recognised professional doctorate degree in Business and Management. It is normally the highest level of qualification available in these fields. The Doctorate of Business Administration program is designed to provide managers and leaders with a global perspective which emphasizes the use of both practical and theoretical approaches. The Core, Concentration, and Dissertation course syllabi are organised around this goal. The successful completion of class projects and assignments requires research skills and the discovery of new knowledge as students search for solutions to problems in today's ever-changing environment.

A DBA is an applied doctoral degree and graduates work in academia, corporations, not-for-profits, and consulting agencies upon graduation. Accordingly, the program ensures comprehensive coverage of the body of knowledge and skills needed for graduates to perform successfully in academia as well as corporations and other organisations. Our DBA curriculum is a focused, rigorous program with a business and management emphasis as well as a research orientation. Students must demonstrate an ability to work independently with initiative and diligence to design and implement an empirically grounded and theoretically significant contribution to their field. This is accomplished under the mentorship and supervision of a Doctoral Chair and Committee.

Aims of this programme

? Demonstrate advanced knowledge and competence in the latest academic theories, concepts, technology-enabled opportunities, financially justified analysis, research operations, and market-based economy in a global field of business administration
? Demonstrate integration from business and non-business disciplines to generate novel ideas, strategies, and practical approaches to address business issues faced by senior leadership in organizations
? Demonstrate effective research skills including formulation of research problem; integration of previous publications into an appropriate literature review; design of a research study; data analysis; ability to summarize and present the results
? Generate, evaluate, and assess the ethical obligations and responsibilities of business for the purpose of responsible management
? Demonstrate an ability to address complex industry challenges using the frameworks of industry rules and regulations that build prescriptive conclusions and real-world experience and knowledge.
