MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) postgraduate degree programme is designed to provide practicing professionals having an engineering/science background with in-depth technical knowledge and exposure to emerging and niche topics in data science and AI.

Compared to the Data Science and Engineering specialization in our MSc in Computer Science, this program offers more advanced knowledge in machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence and data science in addition to core software engineering and computer science topics. Furthermore, this program offers a wider range of electives focused on emerging topics in data science and AI, and their applications.

Eligibility Requirements

• The degree of Bachelor of the Science of Engineering of the University of Moratuwa in a relevant field, as may be approved by the Senate
• Any other four-year degree in Engineering or Science or Technology from a recognized University in a relevant field as may be approved by the Senate
• Any other three-year degree in Engineering or Science or Technology from a recognized University in a relevant field with a minimum of one year period of appropriate experience as may be approved by the Senate
• Any recognized category of membership of a recognized professional institute obtained through an academic route with a minimum of one year period of appropriate experience as may be approved by the Senate

All qualified applicants will be notified of their eligibility and will be invited for a selection test and a subsequent interview conducted by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. The postgraduate degree programs of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering will commence on 07th January 2023.
