BSc. Applied Accounting (General / Special) Degree

Approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka.

Amidst increasing challenges across the business world, creating employable graduates is paramount, to steer businesses forward successfully and with the right skills.

The main objective of the BSc. (Applied Accounting) Degree programme offered by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) is to create unique employable graduates with the required skills, competencies and industry knowledge to fulfill a successful accounting career. Upon successful completion of the degree programme, the student will gain extensive knowledge and the required skills in accounting practices.

This is the only degree programme in the country which enables students to gain specialized knowledge in the field of 'Applied Accounting'.

The B.Sc. (Applied Accounting) Degree programme is designed under two stages

• BSc. (Applied Accounting) General Degree – (3 Years)
• BSc. (Applied Accounting) Special Degree -  (4 Years)

KEY FEATURES

• Approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka and Ministry of Higher Education of Sri Lanka
• Approved under the “interest free students loan scheme “introduced by the Ministry of Higher Education
• Industry exposure through internship and placement at reputed organizations from second year onwards for two years
• Graduates eligible to obtain 70% exemption from CA Sri Lanka, upon completion of degree
• Option of studying one year in Sri Lanka and completing the second and third year at La Trobe or Deakin universities in Australia
• On completion of the Degree programme, graduates are eligible to obtain exemptions from

  • CIMA
  • ACCA
  • CPA Australia

ENTRY REQUIREMENT

• 3 Passes at GCE Advanced Level Examination or EDEXCEL/Cambridge Examination
• Registration is available for students, pending A/L results
