There are several aspects to consider if you're wondering whether a civil engineering degree is suited for you. Do you prefer to work both indoors and outdoors? Do you have a strong grasp of science and mathematics? Do you enjoy putting things together or tearing them apart and putting them back together? If you suppose you'd make an excellent engineer, you should be aware of the many advantages of this profession, including the value it gives to society, the field's adaptability and flexibility, the possibility to earn high earnings, and the better-than-average job outlook. Students who are passionate about doing good in the world might put their technical skills to good use by assisting charitable service organizations.
After graduation, you could work with companies such as Access Engineering PLC, MAGA Engineering (Pvt) Ltd, Nawaloka Construction Company, and others as a volunteer or salaried employee.
One of the advantages of studying civil engineering is that the discipline's breadth ensures that students are never bored with the subject. Their opportunities to contribute are limitless because they are involved in so many various parts and stages of an engineering project. Throughout the planning, design, and testing processes, they apply a range of different computations. They contribute with planning and design, as well as building and construction. Civil engineers are also in charge of maintaining, repairing, and upgrading infrastructure, therefore they are involved in engineering projects in a unique and ongoing way long after the construction is finished.
The courses are taught by lecturers who are well qualified with postgraduate qualifications and with many years of academic and industrial experience. The students are exposed to a sound theoretical base coupled with numerous practical sessions fully supported by our experienced academic staff. All practical sessions are conducted in our well-equipped laboratories. Facilities are also provided for final year student projects to be carried out in research organizations under expert supervision, whilst they complete their industrial training in reputed organizations.
