They offer a strong, sector-related emphasis on practical skills development alongside the development of requisite knowledge and understanding. The qualifications provide a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required in their sector and their national recognition by employers allows direct progression to employment.
A key progression path for Edexcel BTEC HND learners is to the third year of a degree or honours degree programme, depending on the match of the Edexcel BTEC Higher National units to the degree programme in question.
The Edexcel BTEC HNC and HND in Fashion and Textiles offer a progression route to the professional qualifications offered by the Society of Dyers and Colourists and the Chartered Society of Designers.
The Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND Diploma in Fashion and Textiles provides opportunities for learners to apply their knowledge and practical skills in the workplace. The qualification prepares learners for employment in the fashion and textiles sector and will be suitable for learners who have already decided that they wish to enter this area of work. Some adult learners may wish to make the commitment required by this qualification in order to enter a specialist area of employment in fashion and textiles or progress into higher education.
Learners studying the Edexcel BTEC Level 5 HND will be able to develop a portfolio of work which can contribute towards a specialist Fashion and/or Textiles degree and assist with entry to employment specializing in art and design.
PROFESSIONAL BODY RECOGNITION
Edexcel BTEC Higher Nationals are designed to provide a specialist vocational programme, linked to professional body requirements and National Occupational Standards where appropriate. Learners can apply for student membership of the Chartered Society of Designers and/or individual membership of the Society of Dyers and Colourists and from there, progress towards professional membership.
Students may choose to become a Fashion Designer, Fashion Illustrator, Textile Print Designer, Textile Designer, Costume Designer, Concept Developer, Fashion Photographer, Fashion Marketer, Fashion Merchandiser, Trend Forecaster, Fashion Marketer, Graphic Designer, etc – A career of their choice.
Option 01 - A'Level qualification or equivalent
Option 02 - O'Level with AMDT Foundation (Level 3) qualification
Option 03 - O'Level with any recognized Foundation qualification
Option 04 - Any recognized Diploma or Level 3 qualification

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
Students with recognized diploma or certificate in the relevant field will be given credit exemptions based on past results and portfolio review. Even professionals may join and apply for exemptions with proof of work.
TRANSFER TO UK OR AUSTRALIA
After successful completion students may apply to our recommended list of universities in the UK or Australia to complete their higher studies.
